My Life In The 16th Century.
Today, someone asked me to tell my life, my daily life so, I'm gonna tell you what I told him. I live in a small village and I live from farming. I collect water from the village pumps, wells or streams but it is often polluted. We call the toilets 'Privies' but they are not very private at all...
They are often just a piece of wood over a bowl or a hole in the ground. I have to work hard and struggle to survive. I work six days a week and I eat coarse grey bread made from rye and barley. We eat soups which are made from vegetables and herbs.
Life for us in Tudor times is harsh. When the harvest fails it is tempting for poor people to steal food. When people break the law, they risk public flogging or being haned.
